The Dental Technology Association of South Africa annually recognizes individuals and companies who have made contributions to DENTASA and the dental laboratory profession. DENTASA members are invited to nominate a person, lecturer or company they believe deserved to be recognized by their colleagues.

Award winners will be selected by the DENTASA Awards Committee and invited to the DENTASA AGM, where they will be presented with their award during the Awards Presentation Dinner.

DENTASA Award Categories 

Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement 

The Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to individuals that have made contributions to the dental laboratory profession in general. These contributions may not necessarily be in service to DENTASA, although the nomination may be made for outstanding service to the Association.  If the nominated person is a technician, that person must be a DENTASA member of good standing.

Trader of the Year Award 

The Trader of the Year Award is presented to a supplier company or individual working for that company, who has made significant contributions and demonstrated leadership in relation to working in the dental laboratory industry. These contributions may not necessarily be in service to DENTASA, although the nomination may be made for outstanding service to the Association.

Educator of the Year Award

The Educator of the Year Award is presented to an individual educator who has made outstanding contributions in some area of formal dental technology education.

To be eligible to receive the Educator of the Year Award, the nominee must:

1. Be actively involved on a full-time basis in formal dental/dental technology education;

2. Be an member of DENTASA;

3. Have made contributions to dental technology education in a larger arena than his/her program or educational institution;

4. Be working to expand his/her own education.

The nominee is qualified for this honor on the basis of having served the association for at least twenty (20) years.
